In order to make French toast, you need the right tools for the job. The better these tools, the easier it is to put together your breakfast masterpiece. Below we list all the tools you’ll need for each step of the recipe. We offer the bare essentials needed to make simple French toast along side some premium accessories to spice up your breakfast treat!
Measuring Cups
Before you can begin, you’ll need some sort of measuring container to make sure you portion your French toast ingredients properly. Some seasoned home kitchen chefs have enough experience to be able to eyeball their portions, but for most of us “common folk”, we need a little help from measuring cups. For French toast you don’t need anything complicated, just something that can measure cups in increments of 1/4 and 1/3, depending on your serving size.

Mixing Bowl
You’ll need something to mix together all your eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and other ingredients to make your French toast coating. You can use a regular bowl, but it’s much easier to do if you have a dedicated mixing bowl. This is especially important if serving a large number of people.

Mixer
Once you have your ingredients in the mixing bowl, you need something to mix with. A standard spatula will get the job done, but may also leave you with a sore, stiff arm. We recommend using an egg beater or better yet an electric hand mixer.

Skillet
Now that all the ingredients are mixed, its time to dip the bread and fry it. While a regular pan will get the job done, to get the best, most even, golden brown finish on your French toast, you’ll want to use a good quality skillet. The thicker, the better.

Turner
You need to cook both sides of your bread and something tells me flipping it over with your hand isn’t the best idea. That’s where a turner comes in. All turners are basically the same, but if you want one that lasts a lifetime, you’ll want to spend a little more on a high quality turner.

Now that your breakfast is complete, you need a presentation that does it justice. Plates and silverware are a necessity. It also helps to have a tray to put them on.
